Computing & AI

Our computing department apply their knowledge of computer systems, technology and software to understand your business needs and your end-user. The School of Aviation and Security   works with public and private sector businesses, professional bodies, PSRBs, as well as providing short courses, knowledge exchange and CPD training. It is professionally orientated, offering a well-established, inspiring mix of courses and deep sector expertise that are designed to give our graduates a head start in their chosen careers.

As a School, we specialise in courses within the following areas: Art and design, Performance and dance. If you have a creative idea in mind, we want to help you make it happen. At Bucks, we use a range of traditional craft skills and new technology to support your design ambitions. It’s important to us to make an impact beyond Bucks. We’ve helped create brand identities for charities like The Kitchen Education Trust and host the National Disability Arts Collection and Archive. As well as a wealth of industry experience, our dance and performance lecturers bring an entrepreneurial eye to support your performance-related business venture. With a strong network of industry links, our visiting specialists bring more expertise to share with local organisations and the businesses we work with. We also share our creativity and expertise outside Bucks, whether it’s working with Wycombe County Council or performing at public venues outside the university.


Bucks New University has a long history of training nurses and giving them the skills and practice-based experience they need to provide excellent patient care. Nursing and operating department practice are dynamic, people-focused professions, requiring not just technical and practical skills, but strong communication and management abilities.

With the changes happening in the NHS, our courses are helping to develop the practitioners of the future – ensuring they are excellently equipped to care for their patients, but also to thrive personally and professionally as an essential part of our health service. Through our School of Nursing & Allied Health, we work with the NHS, private and independent sector to produce competent and dynamic graduates.As well as our experienced team of lecturers, we have long-established links with NHS trusts, healthcare charities and private organisations. We also use our expertise to support the local community. For example, our mental health team are ‘dementia champions’. This involves running information sessions to improve people’s understanding of dementia and its impact. We offer consultancy, collaboration and research in:

Health Care & Social Work

Our School of Health Care and Social Work offers professionally-focused courses to help you enter, or progress in, health and social care roles. Most of our courses are professionally accredited, approved and regulated by bodies such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), British Association of Social Workers (BASW) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
