Student Union

The University works in partnership with the Students’Union to give our students the best possible experience. Today’s results demonstrate the great work we do together which has already resulted in rising student engagement levels from societies and sports to volunteering, training and workshops, Bucks Students’ Union has a lot to offer which are mostly free like sports, societies, and all kinds of recreational and developmental activities. Securing the highest possible accreditation re-affirms our position as one of the best run students’unions in the UK. Bucks Students’ Union has become the first ever to be awarded ‘Excellent’, after their initial accreditation, in all 12 areas of the Quality Students’ Union (QSU) scheme run by the NUS and are now one of only two unions in the UK to be rated as excellent across the board. We offer a wide range of daytime and evening entertainment, free to all Bucks students. Live music, theme nights, club nights including sports and comedy – you name it, we do it!

Bucks Students’ Union is proud to deliver a range of short vocational courses that are open to everyone, not just students. The courses range from one to four days in length which are all delivered at our award-winning venue and conference rooms. Some courses are accredited which means once passed, you will receive an accredited certificate and individual credits. We believe in good quality, affordable training with all courses being delivered by highly trained instructors.By completing a course with us, you can be assured that you will learn new skills in a comfortable and friendly environment and be taught by instructors that care about the course they are delivering.

As one of the leading Students’ Unions in the country, Bucks Students’ Union has employed many Bucks graduates on its management and wider staff team. One of our key strategic priorities for the coming years is ‘Developing Work Ready Graduates’ and to assist us in achieving this we have created The Leadership Academy to recognise the value of developing future leaders early on. The Leadership Academy is a bespoke development programme for talented students to gain specific skills for routes through the Union into leadership roles. It’s a series of training, courses and opportunities to enhance employability and build leadership traits – all free of charge courtesy of The Big Deal.
